Reviews written in the face of hype are not commonly a good idea. That being said I think I did okay with this.

Well we clearly have unlike tastes if y'all rated new KSE higher than this
Every bit for the review "I'g going to open and honest here.."
Also non sure "technically adverse" is the right phrase given the context?

I thought you might be going for adept but proficient works likewise
Also, on a minor note I believe it was the guitarist Chris Wiseman doing the 'cleans' on this, which I'll agree are ane of the few negatives for me on this. He's also the guitarist for Currents and was saying on instagram he thought this would be the terminal SoI album but the positive response has changed his heed.

Everything I've read has led in context of who did what to Ben doing cleans as well. I'm happy to exist corrected if that's the case and can alter my review accordingly.

Chris does the almost-but-not-quite cleans. Ben tried some singing on their first album and it was really bad lol. He's stuck to purely harsh vocals since.
I don't concord with a lot of your views on the album merely hey, that'southward music. Review is skillful.
Ane of your chief complaints does seem to exist summed by "backlog" which is kind of a funny critique in this genre. It'south supposed to be bananas and over the top and that's the reason a lot of people embrace it, and this genre in general.

"The quasi-clean yells become grating and painful to hear"
Y'all're PAINFUL TO HEAR!!! OOOooooOOOHH
Nah jk, I hateful the review is fine, but I do non concord with anything in the slightest, it's just an epic deathcore album, permit it exist grand and epic and kewl br0 (not existence serious)

4.3 avarage, lmao, stop the earth
this is just an avarage death metallic release, why?
1) nothing new or original
2) Serious lack of riffs
iii) The near boring drumming 2019, compare drumming from the new album to Reclaimer drumming
iv) The quasi-clean yells become grating and painful to hear
Great review though

I agree with some of the points in the review, perhaps I'm non completely crazy after all. I understand the 'maximal' approach to production here, merely it's however a lilliputian over-bearing. The drums don't audio corking in particular. I also noticed the off-putting 'quasi-cleans'. Not sold on the symphonic elements within the context of an album like this either.
It's certainly not the worst thing I've always heard, but not certain it's for me.

Aye, the symphonics somewhat ruin the experience. This is similar Dimmu Borgir for deathcore kids. And that'southward not a compliment.
I actually similar the vocals though. I call back they are the all-time part of this whole shtick.

Harsh vocalism are fine for the most office. I don't actually listen symphonic elements in heavier music, they just don't feel very well integrated here - guess melodic and/or symphonic-prog-core may non exist my thing. Which is strange, as a completely over-the-top symphonic prog-expiry album (that happens to be called 'Core') is i of my absolute favourites.
